Volunteers needed to help clean up the Colerain Township Historical Cemeteries

2024 Cemetery CleanUp Days

Friday, April 19th   10:00am - 1:00pm

    Meet at Dunlap Station Cemetery

    11405 East Miami River Road

Friday, June 21st   10:00am - 1:00pm

Friday,July 19th    10:00am - 1:00pm

Friday, August 9th  10:00am - 1:00pm

Once each cemetery location is selected,

it will be posted on website & Facebook.

Please check back,as we will meet at each Cemetery.

If it is Raining at 8:00am,the CleanUp is CANCELLED

What to bring: 

Gloves, gardening tools, rakes, shears, hedgers, shovels, buckets, etc.

In addition, 1 or 2 gallon jugs of water are appreciated.

We need water to scrub gravestones and none of cemeteries has a water source.

Under Ohio Revised Code 517.11  - Care of cemetery

The Board of Township Trustees shall provide for the protection

and preservation of cemeteries under its jurisdiction

The Board of Trustees of Colerain Township has budgeted funds for restoration of 11 of the 29 historic cemeteries located in the township.

2020, Dunlap Station and Foster Cemeteries restoration work was completed.

2021 restoration work on Compton and Huston 

Cemeteries.

While the Township must focus efforts on gravestone restoration and groundskeeping; much work still needs to be completed annually on gravestone cleaning, landscaping and trimming at all of the cemeteries.
